Native Music: ---CLICK ON MUSICA DEL RANCHO TO LAUNCH PLAYER--- All of the native music in Corazon Vaquero was recorded live by director Cody McClintock on location around various campfires. The recordings were made using a portable Sony mini-disc player and a shotgun microphone. They were later mixed in the studio, with very little modification. Many of these songs feature Arturo Villavicencio and his wife Eduije. While others were performed by Chema and Santos, two of the local vaqueros. Many of the recordings are of traditional songs while others are ranchero versions of popular songs. For many years there was only one radio station transmitting out of La Paz, Baja California - therefore everybody in the ranchos knows these tunes. Film Score: Most of the film score was created by the ever talented Dj Samo of friend-of-mine.co.uk without his contributions the atmosphere of this film would have been completely different.
Additional background tracks and FX were created by director Cody McClintock from stock loops. We are also incredibly indebted to Deborah Liv Johnson whose beautiful song, The Cowboys of Baja Have Stolen My Heart was inspired by her first mule trip into these mountains. The Arturo she sings of is the same Arturo Villavicencio who sings much of the native music in the film. deborahlivjohnson.com
